WHAT IS HYROX YOUNGSTARS?

HYROX Youngstars is a youth-friendly fitness challenge inspired by the world’s fastest-growing indoor race format. Kids ages 8–15 run, push, pull, jump and carry through a series of fun, age-scaled workout stations — all in a safe, high-energy environment designed just for them.

Every athlete competes at distances and resistances suited to their age group, so every child can feel successful and challenged in the right way. Parents love it because it’s approachable, structured, and built around progress, confidence and fun, not pressure. 

HYROX YOUNGSTARS combines the classic endurance sport of running with strength and coordination exercises from functional training. The sequence of the exercises is predetermined and always remains the same: HYROX Youngstars replicates the adult race, but with adaptations based on the age and stage of maturation for the different age groups.

The exercise stations are:

  1. SkiErg – Pull on the ski ergometer until the full distance is reached.
  2. Sled Push – Push the sled across the marked distance, starting completely behind the line.
  3. Sled Pull | Sled Drag – Pull/Drag the sled across the marked distance, until the sled crosses the finish line completely.
  4. Burpee Broad Jump | Frogger Jumps – For Age 10+ Chest-to-floor burpee, followed by a long jump, landing with both feet simultaneously. For the 8–9 Years, we jump like a frog.
  5. Rowing – Complete the distance on the rowing machine, zeroed before start.
  6. Farmers Carry – Carry weight on each hand and walk the distance.
  7. Lunges – Step forward into a deep lunge until the back knee briefly touches the floor. Both legs must alternate while covering the given distance.
  8. Wall Balls | Squats – Squat hips below the knee, for ages 12+ then throw the ball at the given target.

How the MRT HYROX Youngstars Simulation Works

To keep the event running smoothly and ensure a great experience for every athlete, our HYROX Youngstars simulation uses a staggered wave system with color-coded age divisions.

Each athlete will compete only against their own age-appropriate distances and weights, while starting alongside athletes from other age groups.

Athletes are assigned a color based on their age group:

  • 🟣 Ages 8–9

  • 🟢 Ages 10–11

  • 🟠 Ages 12–13

  • 🔵 Ages 14–15

Wristbands, equipment, and station markings will match each age group’s color to keep the course clear, organized and easy to follow.

Wave Start System

Athletes will start in waves every 10 minutes.

Each wave includes:

  • - One athlete from each age group

  • - Four athletes total per wave

This allows the course to stay moving while ensuring each athlete receives proper attention and judging.


After registration, parents will receive an automated email with a link to select their athlete’s start time.

Each age group has one available slot per wave, and start times are selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
